🌱 Economic Empowerment and Food Security in Sandpit Village, Cameroon
🌱 Farmer Testimonial: Early Results from Sandpit Village Project
As part of the ongoing project in Sandpit Village, Buea, Cameroon, our local partner MUAFCIG shared a video testimonial from one of the participating farmers.
In the video, farmer Anawa Allen explains how support received through the project has significantly increased tomato production. While previous harvests averaged around 45-50 baskets, the current season has already reached approximately 150 baskets, with more harvests expected in the coming weeks.
This testimonial reflects the early impact of the project’s approach, which combines practical training, access to inputs, and continuous monitoring. Differences in harvest timing are linked to variations in soil type and fertility across individual plots.
The project is implemented by MUAFCIG in partnership with Impact Circle Germany e.V., with funding from the Georg Kraus Stiftung (Germany), and will continue with further training, monitoring, and scaling activities.
🍅 First Harvest Achieved in Sandpit Village Project
On 2 January 2026, we received an encouraging update from our local partner Muasumegoh Area Farmers Common Initiative Group (MUAFCIG) regarding the ongoing project in Sandpit Village, Buea, Cameroon.
The project has reached an important milestone with the first successful harvest of fresh tomatoes by several participating women and youth farmers. This marks a key step in translating training into tangible food and income outcomes.
MUAFCIG continues to monitor the farms of all project beneficiaries. While some participants have already harvested, others are expected to harvest in the coming weeks. These differences are mainly due to variations in soil type, fertility, and planting dates across individual plots.
The update, accompanied by photos and videos from the field, demonstrates strong farmer engagement, effective application of organic farming techniques, and growing confidence among participants.
This project is implemented by MUAFCIG in partnership with Impact Circle Germany e.V., with funding support from the Georg Kraus Stiftung (Germany). Further monitoring, mentorship, and follow-up activities will continue to ensure sustained impact.
