Empowering Migrant Women for a Just Energy Transition in Frankfurt (Oder)

Project Overview

Climate change and the transition towards a low-carbon economy present both opportunities and challenges. While the transition promises cleaner energy and more sustainable communities, many migrant households continue to face barriers to accessing information, participating in decision-making and benefiting from available support.

The project “Empowering Migrant Women for a Just Energy Transition in Frankfurt (Oder)” seeks to address these challenges by strengthening the knowledge, confidence and participation of migrant women in climate action and the just energy transition.

The project aims to:

  • Increase awareness of climate justice and the just energy transition among migrant women.
  • Improve understanding of energy efficiency, sustainable housing and available support services.
  • Strengthen women’s leadership and participation in community climate action.
  • Promote dialogue between migrant communities, local authorities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Build stronger connections between climate justice, gender equality and social inclusion.

During the project we will organise:

  • Community workshops
  • Information sessions
  • Awareness campaigns
